The Horned Frogs controlled this game for most of the first half, but this Michel touchdown gave Georgia a spark it would need to orchestrate a comeback in the 2016 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

The Georgia Bulldogs prevailed 31-23 over the TCU Horned Frogs in the Liberty Bowl Friday afternoon in Memphis, Tennessee. He also missed a 41-yard field goal and an extra point. "They just didn't teach him how to get a first down on like third-and-(16), and leave me sitting there having to decide whether to kick it or go for it".

The Bulldogs had only one first down in their first seven drives until a 12-yard run from Michel with under five minutes left in the second quarter. Georgia marched downfield on a 12-play drive and finished it with a 4-yard pass from Eason to Javon Wims. And just like earlier, Hatfield missed a 47-yard field goal, which preserved the 24-23 lead for Georgia.

On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore lineman Trenton Thompson collected three sacks, a Liberty Bowl record, and was named Liberty Bowl Overall MVP and defensive MVP.

That was certainly the case against the Horned Frogs, who held Georgia (8-5) to just 49 rushing yards in the first half before the Bulldogs exploded for 199 in the second.

Georgia finished 8-5, slipping from back-to-back 10-3 seasons, but it matches the record of the Bulldogs in 2013 and 2009 under Mark Richt. He's got to make those throws...

Now that they've made a decision to put potential pro careers on hold, Georgia running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel want to cap their junior seasons by setting the tone for a big 2017 campaign.

Baylor WR KD Cannon announces he will enter National Football League draft
His quarterback benefited the most from his huge night as Zach Smith posted 375 yards and three scores in the win. He was held scoreless Tuesday, and finished with 46 yards rushing and 24 receiving in falling to the Bears.

HILL'S ANKLE: TCU quarterback Kenny Hill dealt with an ankle injury late in the regular season but has said that he'll be ready to play in the Liberty Bowl. Will Kenny Hill be the Kenny Hill some of us still think he can be, or will he be the Kenny Hill that we've seen a bit too often this year?

While Hill threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns to Diarse, and Hicks ran for 88 yards on 15 carries, both Hill and Hicks fumbled the ball away to the Bulldogs.

Midway through the second quarter, TCU began a drive at the UGA 45 after a Bulldog punt. "I'm a big believer that you've got to be able to run the ball to win games". Diarse had two touchdown receptions, his second in the fourth quarter on a 9-yard pass in the third. I told Coach (Kirby) Smart I love him and this is the best decision for me.

Cumbie said Hill played better than he got credit for "from the outside" and continued to stand by him as the starter, despite benching him against Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

With his 142 yards rushing, Chubb joined Herschel Walker and Knowshon Moreno as the only Georgia players with multiple 1,000-yard seasons. "We just kept pounding and believing in what we do and eventually we ended up breaking some here in there".

How the Dawgs come out and play will have to do a lot with how Smart has coached them the past month. "I just want to let it be known that there will be a difference in this Georgia team".
