IAF Sukhoi fighter crashes near Barmer

A Sukhoi-30MKI aircraft crashed in Shivkar Kudla village in Rajasthan's Barmer on Wednesday while on a routine training flying. "Air Force officials have been informed about the incident", Additional SP Rameshwar Lal said, adding that the crash had caused damage to a hamlet.

Russia-made Sukhoi jets have a long history of accidents just like MiG series aircrafts. The three, who sustained burn injuries, have been admitted in hospital. Reports suggests that while the pilots are safe, three villagers have been injured.

Police and IAF teams have also reached at the spot. The multirole fighter aircraft forms the backbone of the Indian Air Force.

The injured civilians are Narayan Ram, his daughter-in-law and grandson.
