After conducting beta testing for more than a month, Google's Android team has released the new Nougat v7.1.2 update to select devices.

An official rollout right about now would match well with reports coming from the Canadian carrier Rogers who was previously announcing their plans on pushing a substantial update on April 3 for the Pixel phones.

Apart from the Android update, the Pixel C will also get the much sought-after TWRP support.

Beta users have noticed that the weather widget issue that was in beta version continues in the new release too. As for Rogers customers, the company has said that they will have a little more to look forward to in the near future. However, the update will not be pushed to the older Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices. However, we may soon the update being rolled for other devices as well.

Google reportedly broke the ADB sideload functionality for large files like the ones included with the new Pixel and Nexus in its latest platform tools that were distributed on March 16.

Google's Pixel C tablet has been around in the markets for quite a while. However, check your device for enough storage space and a battery availability of more than 50 percent for the update to finish uninterruptedly. For now, the update is rolling out for those supported Nexus and Pixel devices. To access the Google search, you should drag the G icon on the top left corner of the screen.

The Pixel C is upgrading to Android 7.1.2 Nougat and it's also receiving the April Security Update, as lots of owners of the smartphone have already confirmed.

Even though it isn't a major update, do make sure that you install the update only when your device's battery is sufficiently charged.
