The Mets placed infielder Wilmer Flores and first baseman Lucas Duda on the disabled list Friday.

Duda suffered a hyperextended elbow against the Phillies on Wednesday when Cesar Hernandez crashed into Duda's glove with his shoulder while the first baseman was trying to field a throw from the pitcher.

Jesse Spector of FanRag noted Cespedes will undergo an MRI on Friday, adding that Mets manager Terry Collins called the injury a "concern".

The banged-up Mets were minus more than them: Slugging outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was likely to miss the three-game series because of a hamstring injury, shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera was out of the lineup with a hamstring problem and catcher Travis d'Arnaud was sidelined with a bruised right wrist.

He will face Matt Harvey, who was bumped up to replace Jacob de Grom is experiencing a stiff neck, per reports.

The Mets were beset by injuries all year last season while earning an NL wild-card spot. But with d'Arnaud limited to pinch hitting, the Mets needed a healthy catcher, so they promoted Kevin Plawecki, who was hitting.270 with a homer for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Russia bans Jehovah's Witnesses group as religious extremists
The European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2010 that the move had violated the right to freedom of religion and association. The Jehovah's Witnesses group has been banned in Russian Federation after being described as "a threat to the public".

DeGrom's setback was the latest to seemingly come out of nowhere.

Cespedes limped out of Thursday night's loss to Philadelphia in the fifth inning.

Michael Baron of noted he thought he "saw Cespedes grab the back of his left leg in the middle of first and second".

Other injuries prompted the Mets to reshuffle the deck before Thursday night's series finale against the Phillies.

"I'm a human being and I like my team", Collins said.
