Flynn was warned not to accept foreign government payments

Former US national security adviser Michael Flynn was warned by the Defense Department's Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) against accepting foreign payments as he entered retirement.

Cummings also revealed Thursday that the Defense Department inspector general has opened an investigation into Flynn and whether he sought permission to receive foreign payments, including payments in exchange for an appearance in Russian Federation.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) just released three damning new documents on former Trump administration National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

According to Price, the more troubling aspect is why did the Trump transition team either miss or ignore Flynn's public appearance at the RT event with Russian President Vladimir Putin?

In addition to looking into the RT funds, the House committee is scrutinizing Flynn's work a year ago as a foreign agent hired to promote Turkish government views by a Netherlands-based company owned by a Turkish businessman.

Spicer also said the Trump administration welcomes the Department of Defense investigation of Flynn.

Flynn was forced to step down in February after it was revealed that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about his telephone conversation with the Russian Ambassador to the United States, in which he made comments about US sanction on Russia.

Dueling Shows Of Force As Tensions Ratchet Up On Korean Peninsula
MSDF officials said the Japanese and US destroyers practiced sharing information on missile interception and other communications. Meyer began maritime exercises with a South Korean destroyer in the Yellow Sea, west of the Korean Peninsula.

Flynn's lawyer, Robert Kelner, has said that Flynn did discuss his speech with officials at the DIA.

An attorney for Flynn, who has offered to testify before Congress in return for a grant of immunity from prosecution, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Flynn was the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under then-President Barack Obama until he was ousted from that role in 2014. Almost a month later, Flynn filed paperwork to retroactively establish himself as a foreign agent for the work he did with Inovo BV. Flynn's client, Inovo BV, is owned by a businessman who is also a member of a committee overseen by Turkey's finance ministry. Mr Flynn is the majority owner and chief executive officer of the Flynn Intel Group.

"Here is a paper trail that the White House does not want our committee to follow, but let it be known we will follow it and we will follow it with everything we got", Cummings said. "So that's how the process works, and I welcome the Department of Defense's IG's review".

Among them, a letter dated October 2014 shows, was a warning that Flynn would need "advance approval from the [Army] secretary and the secretary of state before accepting employment, consulting fees, gifts, travel expenses, honoraria or salary from a foreign government".

"Though we've walked hand-in-hand with the Democrats during this investigation, this morning they broke with long-standing protocol and chose to release these documents without consulting us", Henshaw told CNN.

The Trump White House declined to provide the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with documents related to Flynn's application for a security clearance to work at the White House.
