Ake spent the early part of the season on loan at Bournemouth, making 10 Premier League appearances, but was recalled by Conte in January and has had to settle for a place on the Chelsea bench ever since.

Conte said after the game that he hadn't spoke to the physios yet, but believes that he'll be able to play in the next game on Monday when the Blues host Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.

"I think Cesc is a player in this part of the season is showing to be decisive in every moment", Conte told reporters.

Everton are still seventh in the league, two points behind Arsenal, although they have played two games more than the Gunners.

"Also, I am very pleased with Ake's impact. Otherwise for him it's a good season, not a fantastic season".

"I didn't speak to the doctor about his injury but I don't think it's a serious injury".

"I hope in the next game that David Luiz is available to play".

Watford were also forced into an early change when Christian Kabasele came on for the injured Miguel Britos in the 19th minute. But the Reds had enought to earn a crucial victory in the race to finish in the top four.

The Brazilian suffered a knee injury during a tackle by Sergio Aguero in Chelsea's 3-1 win away to Manchester City in December, but has played on this season by using heavy strapping on his leg to reduce the pain.

The 31-year-old has had his critics this season, though, with many football fans baffled that he was included in the PFA Team of the Year over Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld.

"Anyone who had watched Chelsea this season would have known precisely what Pedro was capable of and it was a point another pundit was also keen to make in his post-match comments".

"He came on and I think he looks a veteran and it is great".

"Pedro is showing to be a great player but don't forget Pedro played with Barcelona and he won a lot with the club".

"He is only a young player that started to play for two years, Watford and Bournemouth, and now is showing great commitment, work-rate, concentration when I ask him to play". I thought he controlled him, he was aggressive and we stopped one of the strengths of Chelsea today.
