Antonio Conte is full of praise for John Terry after the Chelsea captain's final match at Stamford Bridge.

Terry was subbed off in the 26th minute of the Blues' final Premier League game of the season against Sunderland, as his teammates gathered to clap him off with a mid-game guard of honour.

Marcos Alonso had already hit the crossbar with a free-kick when Willian drilled in a low shot which Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford fumbled into his own net with only eight minutes on the clock.

One punter who attended the game predicted something similar regarding Terry and made an inquiry with Paddy Power before placing a £25 bet over the phone.

On Wednesday, The Sun have claimed an exclusive with quotes from John Terry on the controversial substitution.

It is incredible. It is my first season here in England and I want to say thanks to all the people that voted for me.

But Conte says Chelsea would have to work harder, to find the motivation required to add the FA Cup to their league title and complete a Double.

Terry though has no regrets about the pre-planned substitution, which was his idea. It's highly unlikely that he will get a chance to play for big clubs in Europe at this point in his career but according to reports he does have offers to from a few mediocre teams in the Premier league.

"I promise you I will never forget it". While I still can play and physically, I know I can - I know I only played two months this year, but maybe that will serve me well if I do continue next year.
