Sir Alex Ferguson praises Manchester United for their "great achievement" of winning the Europa League, 48 hours after the bad events that unfolded back home.

Manchester United will be playing Champions League football next season after beating Ajax 2-0 in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday.

Jesse Lingard believes Manchester United are "capable of anything" and expects them to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

"First of all I've always been a team player", he said. "There are a lot of emotions but I think you have to take those emotions and turn them into a positive".

"Suggesting another big-spending pre-season is on the cards, Mourinho said: "(United executive vice-chairman) Ed Woodward has my list, what I want, what I would like for more than two months.

"We went out focused to win and we won for Manchester and the country", he told BT Sport.

Wayne Rooney pretty much knows what the future holds for him.

"They will learn a lot from it and we will become stronger, and if we can keep this squad together we will be stronger next season, for sure", he added. Obviously I am happy to be part of that [Europa League win] and in some way help the club win trophies, and that is the way it's been over the last 18 months and past year.
