Strict security arrangements have been made in Kashmir valley to ward off protests called by separatists to mark the anniversary of Burhan Wani's killing by Indian security forces on April 8 past year.

Soz was further quoted by ANI as saying, "I would have made him (Wani) understand that a bridge of friendship between Pakistan, Kashmir and India can be built and he could be useful in that".

All shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was off the road.

Burhan's killing, which sparked violnet unrest across the Valley, spawned a "new-age militancy" with young, educated Kashmiris joining terror outfits.
