"The last time I checked he's still a professional fighter", Mayweather said of his lightly-regarded opponent. "On August 26, I'm gonna knock this b**** out too".

After the joint press conference, Irish UFC icon McGregor held a briefing of his own.

Mayweather called himself an "old man" and said he wasn't "The same fighter" he was 10 years ago, five years ago or two years ago.

"After taking a couple years off, I was okay but then we end up somehow making this fight happen and now I really know that this is it". I think if I had to guess, it's little bit of competitiveness and pride.

Mixed martial arts star McGregor has never boxed as an amateur or professionally but will face undefeated former multiple world champion Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena on August 26 under normal boxing rules.

"You line them up and I will knock them down".

Mayweather has been through this rigmarole many times before, but this event feels different - the hype and media gaze on this event will be like nothing else seen.

A number of prominent boxers have also said McGregor stands no chance in this fight.

PM arrives in Israel to rousing reception
Modi would also call upon Israels President Reuven Rivlin on July 5 and the leader of opposition, Isaac Herzog. Describing India and Israel as sister democracies, he said, both the countries can do great things together.

"He looks good for a seven- or eight-figure fighter, but I'm a nine-figure fighter", Mayweather said.

"He is f***ed, there's no other way about it", continued the confident McGregor. He is the biggest pay-per-view draw in MMA history and is known for his lavish lifestyle and trash talking.

Nevertheless, Trump will definitely be watching the match on television. Today we had a meeting and I can't push my body [anymore]. The media was great.

Conor McGregor's press conference has set the stage for a highly anticipated fight between these two world class fighters with differing styles.

The overly-restrictive structure of the event in Los Angeles meant it was a somewhat underwhelming affair. He'll be on the tour at each stop. I'm just looking at people who are coming out and fighting. All free tickets for the tour were sold out.

The fight has a better possibility of looking like Mayweather-Pacquiao than it does the action packed McGregor-Diaz brawls.

According to a poll on the Showtime Boxing Twitter account, 54 percent of the voters chose McGregor as the victor of Day 1 of the media tour.
