Learn About Allergies

Taking control

Most likely, your doctor will suggest ways to stay away from the allergen and may also prescribe medication. Allergy medicines can be given in the form of tablets, syrups or even nasal nebulizers. If your allergy is mild or if you can avoid the allergen completely, you may not need to take any medication as the mere fact of staying away from the allergen will be enough to control your allergy.

Although you stay away from allergens and take medication, your symptoms do not improve, the allergist may recommend a series of allergy shots. These are injections that make the immune system less sensitive to allergens, which improves symptoms.

Unfortunately, neither these injections nor most of the drugs are anything to treat food allergies . People with food allergies should learn to avoid any food containing the ingredients to which they are allergic. Your parents and your doctor can help you read the list of food label ingredients. Fortunately, many children get older with allergies to milk, eggs, wheat and soy. However, allergies to nuts, peanuts and shellfish are often lifelong.

Fighting allergies

You may not be able to fully control your allergies, but you will do yourself a great favor by avoiding anything that causes you allergic symptoms.

Note that I also like crossover couples like Daryl / Caroline (TWD and TVD), well, I really like the complicated thing lol. I like that they respect my ideas and thoughts, just as I respect those of others.

Dust mites. If you are allergic to dust mites, your parents can use special covers for your bed and wash the sheets and blankets with very hot water to remove dust mites . Keeping the room neat and tidy will also help. Keep stuffed animals and other objects that attract dust out of your bedroom.

Food allergies. If you have food allergies, always read food labels to find out what ingredients contain and learn the different names that your allergens can receive. If you are not sure whether or not you can eat certain foods, do not even try it. Instead, ask an adult if it is a food that is safe for you. Your parents can teach you how to recognize the foods and ingredients you should avoid.

Your parents can help you by preparing healthy and safe snacks on those occasions when everyone is eating what you can not eat , such as ice cream or peanut butter. In these cases, instead of thinking that people are on your side, you can take the snack together with your friends without risking an allergy attack and, worse yet, without having to go home before! p>
