She says he texted to say he was hiding after hearing gunshots while on the campus' lunch patio. He left the facility on his skateboard, and went through the outdoor plaza, where he saw at least one person on the ground with what he believed to be a gunshot wound.

Another women, understood to be the shooter, died of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds near the YouTube campus.

Barberini said he could not confirm reports of multiple shooters but said the investigation was ongoing.

Police say they don't yet know the suspected motive of the woman found dead at YouTube headquarters.

AT least four people were wounded and the suspected shooter, a woman, was found dead at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California.

Barberini said San Bruno police began receiving multiple 911 calls of an "active shooter" at 12:46 p.m. (3:46 p.m. ET) and were on the scene within two minutes.

San Francisco General Hospital received three patients: a 36-year-old man in critical condition, a 32-year-old woman in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman in fair condition, a spokesman said.

The hospital said later that it did not expect to receive more patients.

Coroner's spokesman Thomas McGovern said investigators were called to the scene Tuesday afternoon.

In 2014, Cherie Louise Rhoades killed four people at the Cedarville Rancheria Tribal Headquarters in Northern California, near the OR line.

The city's cops confirmed to The Register the Silicon Valley offices of the video-sharing giant experienced an active shooting today just before 1pm Pacific Time.

After being escorted out of the building, helicopter footage showed those inside being patted down by police.

Employees tweeted that an active shooter was in the building and that people inside had barricaded themselves in rooms. Police cautioned people to stay away from the building, which is on Cherry Avenue, about 11 miles south of San Francisco.

No other information was available.

In a string of tweets YouTube owner Google confirmed it was coordinating with local authorities in relation to the incident.

The city responded with a massive police and fire response and found a total of five victims. According to ABC7 News reporter Dan Noyes, "the shooter is a white, adult female wearing a dark top and head scarf".

Overhead video from CNN affiliate KGO showed a heavy police presence outside the YouTube building.

"Customers said they heard what could have been gunshots when they were on their way here", Natalie Mangiante, an employee at Big Mouth Burgers located near the YouTube building, said by phone.
