After a meeting with Trump at the White House on Monday, top officials at the Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence agreed to share highly classified information with lawmakers related to the use of the confidential intelligence source during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Schiff said that Nunes "refuses" to take briefings from administration officials alongside panel Democrats, but in the past, Democrats have been offered identical briefings.

Sanders said FBI Director Christopher Wray, National Intelligence Director Dan Coats and Justice Department official Edward O'Callaghan will meet with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy. The White House then said Monday that Trump chief of staff John Kelly would organize the meeting to review the documents. She said no Democrats were invited because they had not requested the information, despite calls from lawmakers for the briefing to be bipartisan.

In recent days, the president and his congressional GOP allies have described the intelligence source as a "spy" who was sent to infiltrate his campaign on orders given by Obama White House officials.

"I don't think any of us have any idea what the White House is doing, except that they want to use any mechanism they can to get their hands on materials they think will be useful for their legal defense team and they're willing to break down the wall of independence between the White House and the Justice Department to do it", he said.

The former contractor, from a US government agency Caputo refrained from naming, had contacted a friend of Caputo's on May 6, 2016, and told him the agency had emails and wanted to get them to the Trump campaign.

This must have definitely gone OTT over the superstar, having not watched any of the previous movies , we assume. Bollywood's megastar Amitabh Bachchan is quite active on Twitter and shares everything on the social media.

On Monday, Trump campaign adviser Michael Caputo told Fox News there might be at least two informants and said that he was also approached. Schiff and other committee Democrats were furious and argued that Republicans had not subpoenaed many witnessed they considered essential to the committee's work. He said earlier Tuesday the Justice Department's independent inspector general should have the latitude to follow the investigation "where it needs to go". It remains unclear exactly what the lawmakers will be allowed to review or if the Justice Department will be providing any documents to Congress. The agreement was made during a meeting between Trump, U.S. Deputy Attorney-General Rod Rosenstein and Wray.

"I didn't want to be involved in bringing in this kind of information", he said.

In addition on Sunday, Trump continued to attack the credibility of Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation into Russian election interference, calling the probe "the world's most expensive witch hunt".

"What's your next question please?" he said to reporters when asked if he would do so during an extended pool spray in the Oval Office alongside South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

"If they had spies in my campaign, during my campaign for political purposes, that would be unprecedented in the history of our country", he said.

"But you can't be the one to fire him because we've got some weak-kneed Republicans out there who will come after you for firing the guy who needed firing", he recalled while holding a photo of himself whispering in Trump's ear last summer.
